Ruston is classy.

More than half the city is ghetto. I’d say of all the cities in Louisiana it has the biggest racial divide. Literally segregated down the line at the railroad tracks other than La Tech. Most cities in La the blacks and whites live among each other, not so much there.

Bham doesn’t compare at this time but it’s come a long way in the last ten years. It still has a negative stigma but I believe that will mostly disappear in <10 years. The restaurants businesses bars breweries sports teams etc are growing downtown.

Gentrification is all over south of i20.

New Orleans was a nice city a LONGGGG time ago. It’s a smelly shite hole now. Overpriced and absolutely drowning in violent crime. Years of corrupt politics, electing leaders based on how many handouts they promise, and just the general trashiness has killed that city.

you can literally read Time Picayune articles written 2 centuries ago saying this exact same thing In French. And I bet you’ll be able to read the same thing 200 years from now in Spanish

I moved away to southeast LA in 2009 and said I’d never go back to bham area. Seven years later I was back. The changes have been impressive.

Covington/Mandeville are pretty much the most civilized towns in the state.

It's possible to live in Shreveport and remain unaffected by culcha.

Yes, Madison, Flowood, and Brandon are better than any of the immediate burbs in BR or NO. Birmingham has Mountain Brook which is nicer than any of the above, however Jackson as terrible as it is has nicer suburbs than anything in Louisiana and arguably nicer than Hoover, Vestavia etc

Living in suburbs ain't living. It's more of a stragedy for scared white people.

I consider it living because I’m not in the city limits of those hell holes. With Jackson, two neighborhoods in northeast Jackson have more money than the other combined 150,000 citizens of that shite hole
