They didn’t know what type or much past that a plane had hit one tower. At that time they thought it was an accident.
I distinctly remember, after my early morning math class when I first heard about the attacks, we went to English class and my English teacher turned on the radio.
I got a crash course in bullshite fake news. People were calling in saying that a car bomb had exploded in front of the State Department.

In college, 1st class at 11am, sleeping. Mom calls wakes me up, “world trade center was hit by planes”. Went back to sleep for 1/2 hr. Didn’t know what they were or care. Woke up again, turned tv on to video of plane hitting. “Holy shite!” Went to class, it was canceled. Listened to news days, became an adult that day.

Sitting at my desk, sweating the results of the bar exam.
Was trying to hit my news websites (mainly Fox and Drudge). Internet moving slow as frick.
Friend called and told me a plane had hit one of the towers. Found a TV and by the time I turned it on, the second one had just hit the second tower.
My wife called me freaking out because she had head a plane had hit the Pentagon. Wanted to know if she should pick up our son from daycare and go home. She asked if we were at war. I told her yes to both.
Courts all closed and everything shut down. Headed home and watched the coverage for the rest of the day.
The Muslim world should thank their god I wasn't president that day.

Getting ready to head to class. Saw the footage of the first tower on fire but still assumed it was a Cessna or something.
Drove to campus, but had a CD in and not the radio. Walked in and everyone was crowded around a TV in the lobby of the building. Went to class, Professor told us to go home and watch the news. Didn’t even sleep that night. Watched coverage for nearly 24 hours straight before finally falling asleep

I was supposed to fly to Montreal. As I was preflighting the airplane airport police showed up and shut everything down. Went home and watched the carnage.

The video feed of the Howard Stern show that morning is always a good annual watch.

Until the second plane hit the overage was focused on it being an accident. As soon as the second plane hit all hell broke loose.

In Tiger Plaza sleeping. My stoner roommate got up before me for maybe the only time in our entire collegiate career and woke me up to see.

Just finished breakfast at the dining hall, after Statistics test. Went to the lobby of my dorm room after hearing about a small plane hitting the tower. Went and woke up everyone else on my hall when the 2nd plane hit. Entire 9 floors of the dorm were glued to the TV in the lobby after they canceled classes at UGA for the rest of the day.

West Laville dorm at LSU with my roommates watching the whole damn thing unfurl. I will never forget when the second plane hit live.

11the grade English class. Ironically enough, we had a TV in the classroom and saw the second tower get hit as we were trying to figure out what was happening.

I was at LSU. Skipped class because I was hung over as frick. One of my buddies busted in and woke me up to tell me what was happening.

I was driving my wife to work with my 1 yo son in the back. We lived on esplanade at the time. Rod Ryan on the end came in the radio saying this is serious, not a joke. Dropped my wife off at Touro and went home and watched for the rest of the day. Remember holding my son thinking of all of those parents who wouldn’t be able to do the same that night. My, now, ex-wife and I hugged that evening like never before. Even with all that’s going on today….it pisses me off royally

ULL right outside of the student conference center. Just got out of a computer science class with Dr. Radle. There was a big buzz but no one knew exactly what was going on. Will never forget that exact moment in time.

My whole elementary was in Tuesday mass, the principal got up on the microphone and said that something happened but it was far away and we were all safe. We walk back to school, our 3rd grade teacher ended up playing the news for us, and I really don't remember if we saw the 2nd plane strike or not but definitely remember one of the towers falling and the mayhem live. Crazy how little we comprehended of the whole thing, we thought this sort of event was something that would occasionally happen.
