Were you the only chopper in the sky at the time? I doubt it. So why wasn't every other chopper flying out to the rigs escorted back to land by fighter jets? Your story is bullshite.

8th grade keyboarding class. I kept hearing the radio talking about a plane hit a building, but the magnitude didn't register with me. I was thinking like a Cessna flying low and hitting a skyscraper. I let class early for an unknown and saw my English teacher in the hall and she runs up crying and screams, "planes hit the World Trade Center"... I rushed to a class nearby with a TV that was watching the footage. Then they made us stop watching, but we didn't do shite that day.

I was working on a crew that was doing some renovation work at the Superdome. Didn't know anything about what happened until security came and told us to GTFO, as they considered the dome as a possible target. As I was walking to my car, a fighter jet flew over fairly low, I realized that the shite had hit the fan.

I was working as an IT consultant that day and after seeing the carnage including the people falling it completely screwed me up. Was supposed to have a meeting that afternoon with a client...the general weekly meeting we always had. I called them to let them know that I'd be canceling this week due to what happened. The guy was extremely callous and said to me "Why are we canceling...this doesn't affect you at all and was all pissed". Realized what a cold hearted person he was so I canceled the contract a few days later.

At work. Fox and CNN Web admins got a dose of the future of web-based news as both sites were crippled for hours.
My only interesting tidbit was, as the only IT nerd with a financial background as well, I said to our group that the Feds need to find out who short-sold all the publicly traded companies with offices in wtc and surrounding area. Coworker called me stupid. He ate crow 48 hours later.

At Paul Breaux Middle in Laffy.. just getting to 8th grade band class, Ms. Robin (Ro-bayn). She had the box TV/VCR out, i thought we were about to watch some Mr. Holland Opus. Nope, she turned on ABC news and we all watched in awe. I'll never forget that day.

I was a student at McNeese. I was in my room at my apartment. I awoke to the news that the first building was hit. I continued to dress as normal with the news on. I'll never forget anything about what happened next. I was standing at the foot of my bed putting on my belt when the second plane hit. I fell to my bed mouth open in shock about what I just saw

Senior year in high school. Was in calculus when the first plane hit and the teacher wouldn't turn on the tv. During the break between periods my friend told me planes were flying into buildings. We always played jokes on each other so I bet him $5 he was lying. Went to physics for second period in time to watch the second plane hit.

In the conference center at ULL. I had just gotten out of one of my computer science courses, and the first plane had hit. No one knew what was going on.

Offshore. I had just finished my morning production run and had just sat down at my desk to calculate the sales numbers when one of the other operators said come check this shite out.

at home, just woke up
put the news on ....it was on for a few minutes prior to plane 2 hitting
I worked 2nd shift so was able to watch in horror, all the gory details prior to going into work.
by the time I had gotten to work, people had bought flags and tied them to their vehicles

Underway on a submarine off the coast of Hawaii - thought it was a drill at first when the captain was describing the incident on the 1MC (PA system). Rolled out of my rack and saw that we had pulled closer to shore to intercept local TV signals, the signal wasn't great so we ended up watching the scrambled Playboy version of 9/11 coverage.

In my Lafayette apartment getting ready for work. 26yrs old. Watching sportscenter when they broke in with the report. I turned it to CNN in time to watch the second plane hit live on TV. I was pretty terrified. I mean how often do you watch something like that on TV, and know hundreds of people died instantly right there live on TV. I began weeping.
