Just south of causey road, a field there now, between causey road and the strip mall with the do nut place and Acadian cabinets, I think the slab is still there

Ah ok, thought the strip mall was on the same spot. Only pass by once a year or so.

I’ve heard some big names used to play there.

I wanna say Hank Sr.

I’m not old enough to confirm that. A guy I worked with, a long time ago, I believe his parents owned it. Henderson’s

I could be wrong.

Wouldn't be surprised. The likes of Fats Domino and Little Richard played there as well.

Also a good time to bring up that the New Orleans Pop Festival was just around the corner at the race track.

Kind of where the Popeyes is. A litte north of there. Where that cut through road is by Dominos to Old Jefferson.

There is a bank about where the Cal's parking lot was.

I enjoyed many nights there. Some were when Van was playing.

This is correct.

I never partied there but spent a few hours attending to some that did when I was in the fire dept.

It was a dive but old man Henderson was well connected in the music world.

Ever hear of a singer named Tareva?

I did not know that. But I like the sound of the “Louisiana International Speedway” in Prairieville,

Ah, my dad was Pville Volunteer for many years. Wasn't sure how small of a world it would be.

Yes sir. That was his daughter. I worked with Duke. Duke played with Sammy Kershaw before he left for Nashville. That was a pretty funny story to hear Duke tell.

So you worked with Tommy then volunteered with him too?

I don't know him. I just knew a little about her and how she got her start. Good singer but not my kind of music.

Goes back farther than that. I was volunteer and working part time for Tommy at the lawnmower shop. He joined F.D. with me AND went to work with me.
