Yeah Men's Warehouse charged me $250 for my rental and it was too big.
The Men's Wearhouse in BR is deplorable. Half the employees they have there look like they got drug out of a meth house.

Was recommended this by my brother. Just not sure how I feel about buying a suit without seeing it in person first.

This.
A lot more - and better - options if you are willing to look outside of Baton Rouge.

Start with one of the "essentials" suits. They're just basic gray/navy suits. Kinda hard to mess that up. They're generally the least expensive and I got two of them for the price I paid for one from Macy's. Just as good IMHO, plus I could customize it. I have my email address stitched into the jacket liner, for example.
I do recommend that you not measure yourself, hire a tailor to do it. Once the suit arrives if the fit isn't just right they'll reimburse you up to $75 for tailoring.
ETA: I have five of them in my closet right now - three different essentials jackets with three matching pants each for work, and two "special occasion" complete sets that were a bit more expensive. Combined with Tyrwhitt shirts and Thomas Pink ties and I am dapper af.

Anywhere but Men's Wearhouse. That was honestly the worst experience buying anything from anywhere, and I've bought drugs from black people.
But seriously, frick those people. They are horrible.

frick men's warehouse, I was in a wedding this weekend and those idiots probably fricked up 12 of the 13 tuxes
Not to be a one upper, but I had to get a suit for a wedding there and it took me eight trips to the store, countless phone calls and immeasurable frustration just to get the damn thing to Baton Rouge. Then it was the wrong suit. When they offered me store credit I told them I would rather lose money hiring a lawyer to sue them on principle.
Like I said, frick those people and that shite store.

I'm not sure about BR but I'm over buying Vietnam made suits like you get a J A banks. Either American or Italian, if you want to trip out to NOLA hit up my boy Jay at Perlis on Magazine, he'll take good care of you. Rubinsteins is also a gem but may be more then you're looking to pay.

There's an old salesman that's been there for decades
Mr. Ralph IIRC. He's held a few sports coats/suits for me until they've gone on sale. He's a very interesting old man. I didn't find out until recently that he was a securities or bond trader (I think) for years before working at Dillard's. I talked to him for a while last time I was there and I think he was also a speaker to the business community.
