Hot Springs is really the only good option inside of 8 hours (just under 7). Gatlinburg is really nice, but it takes almost 12 hours to get there.

Was coming here to post this. Just spent a few days there after Christmas and we plan on going back next year. Desoto Falls and Little River Canyon are gorgeous. Plus Mt Cheaha is only a couple hours away.

We're big hikers.
