Chances are there actually are several dads of future pros here. There's a lot of people that post on here

Congrats, your child will one day work at Enterprise rent-a-car.

I just keep taking him around the south to play in this big baseball tournaments. He is a left handed reliever and is already getting several innings a weekend even though he's 9 on a 9-10yr old team.
He we are having a fundraiser at the Family Dollar off hwy 87 this weekend y'all stop by and get your car washed.

Only the best of the best make it in pro ball, like less than 1 percent of Division 1 athletes.
Don't tick off your kid and hopefully they don't pull a Johnnyh Manziel if they make it big time

It's more like knowing your son has a winning lottery ticket. But in order to cash it he has to run a double back to back marathon without stopping. And that marathon is lined on both sides by people offering free drugs and women and all kinds of road blocks and slow downs and the road itself is made up of broken glass and broken concrete.
He has to make it through all of that for 10 or so years straight without injury and without too much distraction in order to immediately cash out.
So, no. Going div1 is exciting and certainly something to brag about but it is not going to pay for anything.
Going pro is awesome if you're drafted in the first round or two.
I do think there are any fourth string kickers out there supporting entire extended families.

Your 10 year old has already peaked.

Pro and D1 are two different planets.

I like your analogy.

I've run my course. It's time for them to run theirs and on their terms (though guided).

I'm sure the parents of this guy thought the same (for pro) when they rushed out to get the trademark.
Worked out well

While I'm waiting for him to get his first pro paycheck. I rent him out to pleasure the unfulfilled milfs in the neighborhood. It helps pay the training bills

My kid is a late bloomer. Not talking about him. I see the kids you are talking about though.... They don't have a chance

If daddy isn't smart enough to realize the gulf of talent difference between div 1 and pro, then his kid's best chance at not working at a gas station his whole life is probably somewhere in pro sports. Or selling drugs
I'll go out on a limb and say MIT won't be an option.
