I knew then and now that I was more than capable of taking away some knowledge from just about anyone at any time and under any circumstance. I am very curious and always have been so I never leave anything I think I know for certain rest, I read about it, talk to others about it...always have. I was fortunately not full of myself as a young adult...I assumed older folks knew some shite about some shite I did not know anything about and for the most part they did....

How are you supposed to be old and wise if you were never young and crazy?

Is this not why they say "Youth is wasted on the young"?

I certainly thought I knew a thing or two, and I could have not been more wrong. One thing I was a true idiot about is how I spent money. In retrospect, I wasn't a massive idiot with money, but really wish I would have made a few better decisions, I could have been retired already.

I’d have a lot more money if I knew then what I know now. I’d probably still be single as well, but I would have missed out on so many great times with my kids.

All I know is that I wish I could go back, and tell my teenage self that the things I worried about back then and thought were important were, in fact, total bullshite, not important, and not worth worrying about.

A professor once told me that Harvard was called the great storehouse of knowledge because the freshman entered knowing everything and left knowing nothing, he was paraphrasing an old quote, and it was easy to relate.

I was such a shite when I was 17-25 or so. I was mad at the world for many different reasons, but mostly psoriasis and my catastrophic lung surgery. I also didn't understand how women and relationships worked, and kept getting myself sucked into non-relationship relationships.

It's pretty visible in my posting as well, I was such a grade A a-hole my first 6 years on TD and have mellowed out considerably.

I can say that when I was young, I was a complete Dumb arse…. I cringe now thinking back of how I was.

It’s weird to think when you’re a teenager you really do have the world by the balls and your life can go any way you want it.

But Teenagers are going to be teenagers.

I had everything I needed and people giving me the knowledge to have a easy life but I was too stupid to listen or realize.

I’m not saying you can’t push reset at any age ( I did and now have it going exactly how I want it) but I could had skipped a lot of shite if I wasn’t such a dumb arse and thought I knew everything when I was younger.

Is so true.

Had I known then what I know now. But it wasn't possible. I am learning to be more forgiving of others when I realize how much work I still need to do.

After my mom died this year, watching my dad reclaim his freedom has been an odd form of therapy.

My mom was fearless, reckless, lived in the moment, loved LSU baseball, jumped out of a plane on her 50th (my gift, we did it together). She was encouraging but tough as nails. She was the one who brought me roller-skating to Leo's every Sunday, took me to gymnastics practice, always up for a road-trip, adventure. Dad was the enforcer, stern, and likely the reason I am still alive.

Long and short, all I know is our time here is shorter than we think. Whatever I thought I knew, may have been been right or wrong, but it really doesn't matter. Tick tock. Live, laugh & love sounds cliche, but it isn't so off.
