No, it was not. Police set up barricades at the end of the street and let it peter out.

This is going on elsewere as in LA where they blamed their spike on reopening when the protests were happening and the Mayor was selectively enforcing the law. The promoter parties like the one for the NFL rookie that ended up with a shooting were happening all over the city and police were told NOT to break them up. The hotel party like the one at the Cambria near Disney that hit the press were happening by the 100s. Groups knew they could not get a group party so they rented rooms separately at places and just showed up planning to have a blowout. I have a friend with Hilton and they had multiple Embassy Suites in LA where their properties were being damaged but authorities failed to enforce the law. Like Cantrell, Garcetti had an agenda and WANTED his reopening to fail. Just this week he slowplayed the colleges by not allowing his health department to approve or disapprove campus housings plans so the colleges had no choice but to turn everyone away.

The very types that are screaming "systemic racism" are doing the exact thing they're bitching about:

Same problem here in KY. Our bitch of a gov has the police out taking down license plate numbers of people who went to church, in "violation" of the mandates that things be closed. Meanwhile, downtown Louisville was a jungle circus with building being broken, looted and burned.

Two hospitals in NOLA haven't seen a case in two months. A friend in NOLA (at Ochsner Baptist) has only seen very mild cases, so basically hitting those who are healthier this go around.

That being said, most of those in NOLA protesting couldn't have been from NOLA and from out of state even.

There is a rise in cases in NOLA but not nearly like it was in March/April. The rise in cases statewide was where it hadn't hit hard yet. Note that every single one of the cities had demonstrations 2 weeks before shite began to heat up in hospitals.

This virus picked most of the low hanging fruit. And I really should not have used hospitalizations because it is vague. How many are simply being monitored? How many are hospitalized primarily for a comorbidity factor and tested positive after being admitted? How many threatened or begged to be hospitalized?

That last is more real than many may think. There are street stories as with anything from car accidents to Hurricanes about getting paid and rumors are out that if you get Covid you will get a check, and that if hospitalized it is a bigger check. You would be amazed how many folks in zero or minimum damage auto accidents demand an ambulance to take them to the ER because they believe the story that they get double the medical costs. While once working as a CAT manager after a hurricane we dealt with people with no noticrable damage hiding their clothes and claiming they got wet and had to be thrown away. The reason was a story that you got an extra $1000 per resident for that from FEMA.

And, Privateer, I do not blame any one thing either but in June,the Advocate wrote 4 stories and the 2nd rate ER doc mentioned at 3 press conferences about a 50 person Newman graduation party while the blowout at the airbnb was only reported as part of the Newman story by the Advocate and mentioned once by Avegno.

We have a mayor who can’t stay on top of her personal finances enough to pay her taxes. Does anyone honestly think anymore that she’s competent enough to run the day-to-day for an entire city?
