I'm sure they will dream up another way to recover those lost revenues.

Not to hijack your thread, but did you see where a P51 went down in AZ last Friday?

We won't in our lifetime? In my parents lifetime they went from limited tv's to fricking high def on their cell phones at a price point every American could afford.

In addition to municipal revenue think of the insurance industry, body shop industry, and even auto industry that depends upon collisions as a reason people purchase a new vehicle.

taxi cab industry, transportation industry, the parts industry, etc. we won't own cars anymore. it will just be Uber when we need to go somewhere and Uber when we need to come back home

Raise other taxes. Create new taxes. Continue to skim money and siphon money through shell corporations. Funnel money through brother-in-law's company. Profit.

Hipsters hate to drive. I'm waiting for the self-pedaling single speed.

That's pretty naive. "Encyclopedia's will never be obsolete..."

Yeah, it happened less than a mile from my house. Knew the aircraft well from the museum. Went down in similiar fashion. Very sad.

Met the owner of BBD some years back, seemed to be a really nice guy. It sucks for the family and whole community.

Municipalities will fight to make these illegal, just like they fight Uber.

Until they figure out how to shift the revenue stream. You can count on driverless cars being required to pass an inspection at least once per year that will cost several hundred dollars when it happens. Because Joe Bureaucrat is competent to question the programming....

No. I'd much rather read a book while being driven.

Police will oppose them out of "safety" reasons, but in reality, it would be due to loss of funding.

Telling me they will ban classic cars?

You guys seriously underestimate the insurance and MADD lobby. Guess why you have mandatory seat belts, air bags, crumple zones, and you can't use scope without being ticketed for a DUI. You think they won't foist autonomous cars on the population?
