A couple of beers, loud music and driving a country road is one of life's simple pleasures.

I wish there were more drive thru daiquiri shops in EBR

So I wouldn’t have to sit and drink, then drive

If that's what this is about, I suggest picketing in front of ambulance chasing law firms and in the hoods for their inhabitants turning a small dent in a car into five, sometimes 6 figure lawsuits. Not yelling about daquiri spots on a message board.

I always found that regulation to be kind of funny. Having to tape a straw to the top.

What is this? I’ve never got a daiquiri from a drive thru with tape?

Yeah those are problems too.

But so are the daquiri shops. But because people here partake they will be cast aside as a lesser issue. They aren't.

Louisiana ranks #20 for highest vehicular deaths and accidents. Even when you look per capita, we are squarely in the middle. Pretty sure we have, as I have been told by insurance agents in the past, an issue with being overly litigious in this state. Thank Morris Bart for your insurance premiums.

always give you 2 straws. one you put in your drink, the other you keep wrapped in case you get pulled over. toss straw in back, present unopened straw to police. "closed container"

Can still be considered open container in Louisiana.

In order for the daiquiri to not be an open container, the lid must not have been removed, no straw in it, and the contents of the cup have not been partially or completely removed.

If someone has been drinking the daiquiri and throw their straw away when pulled over, it’s still an open container because the contents have been partially removed.
