Thats just the proper way. Just like Russia looks like Puccnr (in Cyrillic).

a technology i resell is based out of Turkey and I've noticed that they call themselves that for their cloud instances and i've never seen it before.

but i also don't pay a ton of attention to Turkey.

Because that is how it is spelled in Turkish. Like Spain is España.
