I think it’s funny when they act like they aren’t guilty. They only put people with rap sheets on death row so even if they didn’t kill that specific person they still stole TVs or sold weed or whatever so it’s justified

Is this you being facetious? I'm guessing so.

I'm in favor of the death penalty, but thinking about the ones that have been exonerated years after the fact, and the innocent that have been killed makes it really iffy. But yeah there are some "clear cut" cases that shouldn't take more than five years in the appeal process, just get it done.

I agree. Only go after the death penalty in certain cases where the evidence is 100% irrefutable.

Hopefully never. The government fricks up way to much for me to entrust them to kill people. Way too many inmates have been freed via DNA evidence for me to trust the state with the powers of life and death.

The case of Cameron Todd Willingham made me forever a death penalty opponent.

I actually know a death row inmate. Dustin Dressner. He killed Paul Fasullo And Tried to kill the wife. As she laid there protecting the daughter. All because he wanted there drugs.

I don't have a problem with anyone being executed when their conviction was 100% correct meaning there was absolutely 0 doubt that they committed the crime.

I do have a problem if its someone who was convicted on eye witness testimony or circumstantial evidence.

We need to make it interesting. Have them fight to the death for our entertainment, the winner gets a meal and a reprieve

If I read correctly, it's been since 2010 that we have put a murdering son-of-a-bitch to death. What gives? Why do these vile mistakes of humanity get to draw breath 5, 10, 20 years after taking another's life?
That's the kinda shite we should be concerned about instead of whether Russia meddled in our voting process. Hell, I bet the DemoRats would love for Russia to meddle on their behalf, if it means getting one of their own in the White House.

The reality is our system is far too flawed and corrupt in order to put a man to death. The death penalty works in a perfect system but ours is far from perfect.

say electric chair or just give 4 officers + a member of the victims family rifles with 2 bullets amongst them and go for the head shot or let him bleed out if it's miss idc.

Let me interest you in a couple countries where you may be more comfortable. Feel free to move to any of these at any time:

Saudi Arabia
Iran
China

Hypocrisy is wanting less government but giving government the power to execute their citizens. Just saying.

Anyone convicted of murder or child molestation where DNA linked them to the crime should be put down within 3 days of verdict.

Just curious. Is there someone on death row that you want to see executed, or is this just a general question? You seem personally pissed but at the same time clueless as to how the system works. Most people who have lost someone to a murdering criminal would be no less pissed, but much more informed. Very odd.

My apologies Rondo. I guess I assumed most on this site are from Louisiana, but true, TigerNation is vast. Shoulda known better.
Glad you took after your mom instead of me, Son.

It’s the most ridiculous thing ever. If they are convicted they should be roped up within a year

That is an awful idea. They may hate the person who killed their family member, but having them be a participant in the execution would not be healthy for them at all.

Hypocrisy is common among mere mortals such as ourselves. Government makes the laws and our law enforcement folks are there to serve and protect the citizens. When a low-life kills someone it is the job of law enforcement to follow through till the end. The only option other than that is vigilantism. I'd be glad to help out there...I've killed before!

i think around 7% of folks who are executed are not guilty. until we can close that to 0% we don't need to be executing
