Right. Women entered the workforce 40 or so years ago and shifted the supply curve left. The demand curve has since adjusted back to equilibrium raising the number of jobs, gdp, consumption, etc, etc. Then in the last 20-30 years we've seen an exponential increase in automation, globalization, and migrant workers. So, like I said, wage stagnation we are experiencing now has just to much to do with men as it does women as the supply and demand curves have already shifted horizontally to incorporate women.

It's adjusted back some sure. But you can't seriously argue that jobs today pay the same as they would have if women had never entered the work force. That's just not reasonable .

You think women create the same amount of jobs as men do?

You're right, they pay exponentially more than if the workforce was still only adult males.

I weep for you.

A marriage is a partnership. Some days you will give 100% and your partner will give 100%. Other days, you give 200% and they give 0% and vice versa.

A large part of that partnership includes your contributions to the household income and chores. I for one do not want to be the only one bringing in an income - especially given that we do not have any children as of yet. WTF is your spouse supposed to do at home for 8-10 hours a day while you go to work?

Just saying it went back to equilibrium without explaining how that managed to happen isn’t an answer. If women were creating jobs it would make sense but they haven’t.

LINK

Had equilibrium not moved unemployment would have dropped and gdp and wages not increased like they have, and the only way for equilibrium to move back left is through artificial measures or a crazy event like the hyperinflation in Zimbabwe or post WWII Germany.

Your link doesn’t even work. Anyways there are dozens and dozens of articles about how this happened, even websites like New York Times have talked about it amazingly enough. When you double the amount of workers what do you expect will happen? It’s as basic as it gets

Raise kids?

We don't have kids.

Cook meals?

Are you making Beef Wellington every day? Most dishes don't take more than 45-60 minutes for a two person household.

quote:

Clean the house?

Again, are you doing a daily spring cleaning? Are you a fricking slob? An hour or two of cleaning is sufficient for a household with no kids. Our cleaners spend 2 hours cleaning our 2,000 sqft house.

quote:

Go to the gym?

Sure - 1-1.5 hours a day there.

quote:

Enjoy her life?

Enjoy her life by watching children, cooking, cleaning and working out for you? What if a woman enjoys working?
I'll tell you what. In our household, we would rather pay for a cleaner to come by once a week and clean up than do it ourselves. We enjoy our lives. In part, because we both contribute financially.

I expect the economy to adjust exactly like it did and temporary unemployment to rise and then a large permenant expansion like we've seen.

And it's not like every women just all the sudden had or was seeking a job. It was a gradual implementation of more labor. I'm not going to say your stupid because you just don't understand, but youd be better of trying to learn instead of arguing while understanding 1% of what's going on.

There’s no winning. If a woman decides her ambition is to be a stay at home wife, she’s a gold digger.

Depends on whether she’s a gold digger. My wife married a poor man. She decided she wanted to be with the little ones and I agreed, while we were still poor. Now we’re doing ok, and she teaches the little ones and volunteers.

If she were hanging out with friends and shopping all day, I would not be ok with it, regardless of finances, but I wouldn’t have married her to begin with if she was the selfish type.
