Someone in my family had to go away for 4-5 months to drug treatment that also had mental health services. It did, in fact cure them and they are once again a productive member of society. The cost, even with good private insurance, was over $30,000. Small price to pay if you have it, to get the rest of your life back when you are a young adult. They were lucky a family member had it. If not, they might be homeless.

Pay them to clean up the city
In America, adults are homeless by choice unless mentally impaired. Give them a purpose and let them see that they can work to accomplish something good.

It is less about "conforming" and more about self medicating and admitting a percentage of the US population can not live on their own without constant supervision.
Most of my experience is with homeless veterans. Many of them get VA disability in the range of $1k-$4k month. Some also get SS disability.

You know how they used to attract coyotes to a carcass that was filled with explosives?

1. Bring back insane asylums.
2. Push to deregulate and reduce codes on building. Extra costs are added every year by lobbyists and private interests to push their products.
3. Deregulate and reduce rules on neighborhood developments in local communities. Often these rules are put in place to not protect the citizen but the first responders. Things like wider roads, fire protection codes on the homes add extra costs to building.
4. Educate people on actual finances.
Govt at all levels need to understand that each regulation that adds cost to build makes homes unaffordable to another segment of the population. More importantly the people need to understand that.

I heard Dr Drew (from Love Line) say this same thing. If takes many months of in patient rehab to successfully treat some of addition.

Start a rumor that the homeless are passing around information that will lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton.

Define “solution”
It’s a large population with a variety of different issues

We're also importing millions of immigrants who jump right on the welfare wagon.
Our own government is destroying the quality of life here.
