What's your opinion of a Lazy River as part of a vacation experience? & which is best?

Great?
Trashy?
Fun?
Boring?

It can be a nice relaxing experience and a chance to keep cool on a hot day while still soaking up some sun.

For a lot of people, it seems to be a good chance to drink beer (or other beverage of choice) with minimal effort.

For young, single people it likely can be a good opportunity to meet young single people of the opposite sex.

It can be a kind of a lazy activity, though.

Probably the best one I've been to was the one at the Wharf in Gulf Shores. It has nice sandy areas with hammocks and trees to relax between floating and to store your gear instead of a crowded poolside like area. Doesn't really make up for the place being away from the beach, but still a very nice area.

To me, a lazy river is a piss river. But that’s just me. Check chlorine levels before you get in and you should not catch anything. They have little test strips that are inconspicuous so you don’t offend the white trash floating in it.

Do not get in public pools, include lazy rivers. About 12 years ago, family, the wife's side, all got in a wave pool except myself and the wife and they were all sick that night except the wife and I

Honestly never been on one.

I have no desire to go on one.

Good luck.

Great point. Humans in a pool bring down chlorine levels very fast because of all the piss, shite particulates, grease, semen, dirt, and general filth of the average person (self excluded obviously). It is in fact recommended to shock a pool after a pool party. Chlorine levels, unless adequately maintained during the organic load of a public pool, will drop low enough to transmit disease between said public trash in it. Fact.

I think they are great. They have an awesome one right outside of San Antonio complete with side bars for drinks.

It’s even heated in the winter time so you can visit all year round.

It depends on the number of South Americans dwelling in said lazy river.

How many times have you tested chlorine levels of pools you don't own or work on?

I have only been on one and I win the PowerBall, a lazy river will be the first thing I build.

Cool water in the summer and warm water in the winter.

The one at the Hyatt Hill Country near San Antonio is decent but a stay is pricey, so you won’t see much trash.
