A year or so ago when I lifted a lot 250/185, now I just run and do stuff outside of the gym - I can maybe push 220?

I don't think you guys realize that someone benching 300 is in the 90 percentile of all ages under 45.

Actually, I know a guy benching alot more than that in his 60's. Of course he has national records.

Same here. Big Hoss in Marrietta still pushes 500 plus in his late 50's.

Yeah, it's very hard for me to gain weight. I want to get to 195.

Started college 8 years ago at 6-2 150-60

One rep max calculator is bs.

I can't bench 367 and I know it. I'm to old and it hurts to bad to max out.

Yep, I've known at least a few professional athletes who even if they can bench 300+ lbs, would never try to max due to risk of injury and no need for it.

watched a video the other day, 5 worst exercises to do was:

good mornings
behind the neck shoulder press
chest dumbbell flies
leg extension machine
and the front bar raise where you bring to your chin.

My last max was 365/220 and I did 225 x 21 that same week. My goal was to get to 20 reps and I only maxed out of curiosity. I don't go over 315 anymore for my shoulders sake.

imbecilic

Arnold Schwarzenegger has every one of these as a staple of his routine.

Does he come across as a non-expert at weightlifting to anyone?

Nephew jock in college at UF, center for Grossman, benched 605 when he weighed 300. His playing weight was 305. Now he still keeps in shape but looks more natural at 240 lbs.
