When my first wife called me for the first time, I responded, “I’m already seeing someone, but...”
That “but” cost me so much pain, misery, and money.

Also want to say thanks to Owlie for not killing me when he had the chance. Specifically when he was driving my truck.

Regrets, I've had a few.
But then again, too few to mention.

The ole regret quandary. I suppose it would be my first divorce. Though she ended up just fine and so did I, and I'm not sure I would change it if I could go back in time, I think its still my biggest regret.

I once shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

I have no regrets. I loved unconditionally, and I forgave those who betrayed me. Believe me it hurt. I fed the hungry (literally) and I clothed the naked (literally). I visited the elderly forgotten in nursing homes. One of those wonderful nursing home friends was a WWII Navy Pilot who flew dive bombers off the deck of the USS Yorktown II. He sat quietly in his room mourning the loss of his wife a year before. I took my granddaughter to meet him. I wanted her to meet a genuine hero. She was really impressed. He has since crossed over to the other side to be with his wife and his Navy buddies. I truly miss him.
I tried to bring light where there was darkness. I prevented at least one man from committing suicide and I convinced another man to work out his marital problems and not leave his family. He took my advice. As far as I know he is still with his wife and children. The memory of those wonderful frightened, lonely, and confused people still grace my memory.
I'm not perfect. I've made mistakes. I'm flawed okay. But I asked God to help me to forgive and be forgiven, to love as He loved. He answered my prayer. Along the way I was profoundly effected by the experience of meeting (and helping) my friends.
Our country is raging. Unspeakable things are being done and said about innocent people. It seems that Satan is at his most destructive right now. I wish it wasn't that way.
I remember St. Theresa of Calcutta reflecting at the end of her life about what had been accomplished. At one point in the interview she said, "Look what God has done with nothing." I sure can identify with that statement.
I will geaux to Church today and remember and pray for my friends and family, especially my bride. I will ask God to help me to become a better man. I'm a work in progress and I need to be patient with myself.
Deus et benedicat

Not saving 25% of my income during my single days after college when I had much more disposable money.
