Congrats! As a daughter, my dad stood by his beliefs. Most said he was too hard on me, that I didn't have enough freedom, but his protection of me was his first priority. Which a teenage girl won't understand

I hope you get some sleep and enjoy every moment with your baby girl. She will grow up, before you know it.

I was just about to and say that. It goes by so fast.

I miss that.

I miss having a toddler around the house. We are too old to start over though.

I wanted more but it’s just wasn’t meant to be. I’m blessed with what I have.

Just didn't happen for us either. I'm the only male on my dad's side of the family too. My family name (at least our branch) ends when I die I guess.

You know if not uncommon now for a girl to keep her last name.

Opening the door coming home from work and basically being bum-rushed while they scream “DADDDDDY!!!”. You just cannot beat that feeling. I love laying in bed with them and talking, asking them about the best part of their day, etc. My son is 4 and my daughter will be 3 soon so it makes for some interesting and hilarious conversations. I also love the random hugs, especially when they say “I love you Daddy”. Fatherhood is the biggest game changer ever.

My kid is a 9 yro girl so:
Getting my hair done
Playing Barbies
Trying to understand daily drama
I hate having to discipline her even when she pisses me off.
She gets upset when I MAC filter her iPad for non-compliance.

I worry about anytime that she's in an environment over which I have no control. With the number of kidnappings and school shootings that take place, it simply terrifies me.
She has an LG cellphone watch but it would nothing for someone to see it and take it off.
She's authorized to do whatever is necessary to escape up to and including killing.

When she was a baby I used to enjoy picking out different types of food that she might like.

Being a dad is a journey and most rewarding.

This made me

Good for you, Tempratt. Quit trying to understand the drama, that is crazy female stuff, completely non-sensical (semi-joking). Just hug her and tell her it will all be ok.
You have no idea how pivotal you men are in your children's lives.

Being a dad is awesome. My little girl helped me clean out my closet today. I held up a few shirts that I'd had for a long time and she said "dad, you aren't 27 anymore. Toss those. Please don't wear those to my school"

Coming home from work and hearing my 5 year old running down the hall screaming “DADDY!” and giving me a huge hug.

Best part of my day.

Yup. Their momma ain't that enthusiastic.

And it also goes downhill from there, especially when you're really tired . Like guys, I just want to drink a beer and watch the game!

It use to amaze me that my son thought this 5’3”, 120# woman could protect him from anything and anyone and I was perfect.

"Screw you, I pay the bills and now I am DEFINITELY wearing these to your school!"

I would be an awful parent.
