A trailer park in Harrison County, Indiana.

Had to do a check to ensure a kid could do a home visit there when I worked at a local youth shelter.

Felt like I needed a hazmat suit. It was fricking awful. Parents got busted for cooking meth there a month after the fact.

Kemper County, MS for the construction of Southern Power Plant Ratcliffe. Closest town was Meridian which was abt 45 minutes away.

Jennings, MO - booked a hotel there for a week of work at a nearby warehouse. After a night of constant gunshots and sirens, I checked out and stayed in Creve Coeur (west and south St Louis County are really nice). North St Louis County is a scary place and makes Nola East look decent.

About 30 years ago, I had to do some work in downtown St. Louis at the old Mallinckrodt facility. The site manager said, "you need to finish up around 3:30, because there's a guy across the river that occasionally shoots his gun at our building. He's never done it before 5:30pm...so if you finish up by 3:30, you should be good."

Drove an old as shite metal stamping machine from the south edge of Chicago to Reynosa, MX back in 2009. There was a factory there that had an identical one that got damaged beyond repair in a fire.

Unfortunately the one I was pulling had been sitting in a warehouse with a leaky roof for 12 years so the big heavy stamping head was rusted in place in the half-up position as opposed to being full-down position.

So not only was it a 50,000 pound machine that was narrow, but over half that weight was way up in the air. Had to drive a bunch of back roads to avoid getting cited for being a case study on DOT violations. Felt like I was going to tip over on about 14 different occasions. Finally got to the factory and had to sit at the gate for 20 minutes in a brand new cab while all the locals were sizing me up. Factory owners come out and start bitching about the condition of the machine, I just said “take it up with who you bought it from, I’m outta here”, unhooked and skedaddled
