All I know is that the McDonalds on Canal by the river smells like a Rwandan outhouse. That gets my vote.

Treme, central city, east, ect..
Pretty much anywhere that isn't in the "tea pot", Lakeview, or City Park Ave area if we're being brutally honest.

Only the parts that are in LA

Lower 9th ward
Pre-Katrina the lower 9th was bad.
Currently it's a race between the 7th Ward, which is enormous, and Holly Grove. 7th Ward does more volume because it's larger.
And most of the 7th Ward was a decent blue collar area prior to Katrina. Now the only part I'd consider safe is north of RE Lee Blvd.

Easier question to answer is what are the good areas of New Orleans.
Much shorter list.

For you people saying all of it, I'm guessing most of you have no idea how big these areas are-
Lakeview, Lake Vista, Lake Shores, Mid City all around City Park, the Garden District area, the areas along Bayou St John north of City Park.
That's a lot of areas that are better than 95% of the places in the rest of this shithole of a state.

I lived in the triangle formed by the park, North Carrollton, and Orleans for about 8 years starting in the 1990s and loved it.
I won't live there now, but it's because property values are way too high, and the city leaders will jack your property taxes at will, based on a vote by mostly non-property owners.

How would you know? If you live in Alabama, have you ever left the state?

Hollygrove, parts of central city and parts of the lower nine are off limits after dark.

Oh plenty of the baws from out of state have visited Nola. They came down to Bourbon, drank their fruity drinks in neat looking plastic cups, then ate some of that great Cajun fried food at Landrys or Bubba Gumps, then went home to the great bastions of rich living where they came from.
