WTF are you talking about. They don't get tickets unless they are the omega at the station, they get free food and drink form local places, drive fast as frick around town, have the audacity to chase me down as a volunteer sheriff deputy lol. Local cop here raped his friends 17 year old daughter. ONE news story about it, then nothing......stuff like that. You are blinded by your friendships with the lowlife, dumber than average, leaches of society. Cops cause more local funding issues than any other group, well except fire fighters. Fire fighters in San Antonio wanted lifetime benefits and higher pension.....WHY THE frick DO YOU THINK WE WANT TO PAY FOR YOU TO BE RETIRED? RETIRE LIKE THE REST OF US, on your own dime.

You are trying too hard. I’m sorry you got turned down from the police academy. And don’t lie and say you are too smart or make too much money to be a cop. And you keep basing your argument off a fricking volunteer deputy, good Lord. I hate to break it to you, but most cops and fireman pay for their food on duty, if a business wants to give discounts or offer for free than you should take it up with that business. I give cops and firemen half off on windshield jobs when I’m off duty.

I'm a fireman, I bash cops to their faces on a regular basis. I've even got the "If you can't make it in the fire academy join the police department" t-shirt.

Well the motto to protect and serve is the LAPD motto not the motto of all departments.

And it is not mandated by any laws....it’s simply a motto for PR purposes.

It was chosen in 1955 in a contest in a magazine.

Historically, police are the enforcers of the law and maintain order.

I can't fathom where people have this imaginary idea that police have ticket quotas. There is literally no quota for any tickets.

Also, at least in my state, is specifically illegal to issue tickets on the basis of generating revenue for a municipality.

You're only partly right here. As long as they are careful about the way they word things in the meetings, and don't set anything official then it's very easy for them to get around those rules.

They don't tell you "write this many tickets", but they will heavily imply that you need to make a certain number of "contacts" with citizens. It just so happens that the best way to have a "contact" with a citizen is through a traffic stop, and it just so happens that leads to more tickets issued. I have friends who are on the motorcycle traffic unit where I live and they've told me what goes on in their meetings. The higher ups make life a lot harder on officers who don't make enough contacts.

Honestly, you're very naive if you think this doesn't happen.
It's not a coincidence that the last week of every month you see cops out everywhere on the roads.

They are not legally required to protect any citizens. The courts have ruled on this matter and they ruled this way to protect the cop's arse. Nowadays they are mostly in it to make money. Don't believe me? Then why are they usually sitting in residential neighborhoods watching if people come to a complete stop at 3 or 4 way stops? Complete racket they got going on.

I mean I do already make more than cops, even though you’ll just say yea ok....

Most cops and firemen also write off those meals lol, unlike normal people.....based on experience in the one specific field that would know this. What business owner should I contact about the dangerous driving of Monroe police officers

I know I'm a dick, but I'm not trying to be here....Do you actually know any police officers? Don't get me wrong, there are good cops. The many times I've had experiences with cops, it's usually bad. They are disrespectful, accusatory, and condescending. They fricking work for us lol. f we wanted to bad enough, we could check these arrogant fricks

It's probably because you are a disrespectful little frick. I've had interactions with a lot of officers and a few I would call friends. Even the one time I was arrested, the cops were polite but firm. The only time I've ever had a cop be the least aggressive was when a high school party was broken up in a developing neighborhood and the cops had the only bridge in/out blocked so she tried to get me to admit to drinking/drunk...I was neither

'To protect and serve' should be dwindled down to just 'Serve' then, right?

There are two levels of protection: protection from immediate threats and protection from long term threats. When it comes to policing, they can help with long term threats by throwing criminals in jail. You are on your own for immediate threats, so learn to love the second amendment.
