OP you've made a valid point I haven't really thought about. Those bikers that look like normal people most of the time but get dressed up in leather and "tough" looking stuff to go ride motorcycles are essentially LARPing just like the people dressing up in elf costumes.

Bikers are for the most part normal people with normal jobs. Without a job, they could not afford to be a biker. It can actually be quite expensive.

Contrary to what you see on TV, Bikers have real lives that don't involve riding from one crazy adventure to another every Sunday night at nine, eight central.

For the record: I'm totally in favor of your LARPing. I said as much on the first page. I just think people take it too far sometimes. They forget they're playing pretend. For example:

quote:

Hmmm. This is interesting. Louisiana is a solid red & gold state. But you're seeing OL's rolling through. This could mean one of two things.

1. The Bandidos and Outlaws are forming an alliance of sorts. This could complicate matters.

Or

2. The crackdown by the Feds against the Bandidos has been effective enough to make Louisiana look up for grabs and the Outlaws are making a move. This could really complicate matters.

Either way, it has nothing to do with me or you. My advice to you would be to stay out of it and let them do their own thing without you stick your nose in it. If you see any of them somewhere, just mind your own business.

Literally had no clue. I'm not a dork.

That said, thanks for the explanation.

I mean I get that, that's what I'm saying in my other post. It's just people dressing up pretending to be something. Pretty much LARPing.

You watch too much TV if you think what I do is LARPing. A perfect example is what I've done today.

Today was the monthly meeting for my B.A.C.A. Chapter. Meeting was two and a half hours of the following:

1. Discuss upcoming events we are hosting in April for Child Abuse awareness month

2. Discuss developments with abused kids we are involved with helping.

3. Discuss the annual 100 mile ride we hold every May as a fund raiser for B.A.C.A. If you'd like to "sponsor" me in this ride, your donation is 100% tax deductible as we are a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your donation will help us further our goal of helping and supporting abused kids across this country, even in your own home town. For more information go to www.bacaworld.org.

I salute you for your charity work. It's a noble endeavor. Don't listen to anyone who says LARPing can't be used to do good in this world.
