Has to be Churches. Haven't set foot in one in ages. IIRC they always smelled like the chicken was cooked in old, too hot oil. Now that chicken prices are...

I imagine they are struggling.

Never heard that about the bread ..

I think that's somewhere overseas, maybe Ireland? The bread has so much sugar, their law no longer recognizes it as bread.

ETA: Wth is Red Burrito? They were combined with those Hardees that opened up in the BR metro and quickly closed.

The one that toasts your sandwich. Good subs and soups but terrible menu board. Several have failed in the BR area.

I often pass our Jimmy John's at times one would expect to eat, and it's empty.

Subway is always busy.

But I want to say I also heard it’s looking like their massive number of locations is also leading to their demise

More players in the sandwich game too. Jersey Mike's dominates them on taste.

Rally's. The one in my smallish town stays pretty busy.

Of the ones in my area, LJS is gone (both locations closed), Burger King looks deserted unless the car club has a show or there is a teen group washing cars in their parking lot, and Sonic is out in the middle of nowhere. Those struggle the most.

My Hardee's is slammed at breakfast time and a ghost town in the evenings. They actually have good hamburgers and actual chicken fingers. My spouse loves chick-fil-a particularlthe shakes.

Burger King hamburgers used to be gristle city. Now they’re better but fries suck.

Back in my fatty days, I would go to Popeyes , and then head over to Church's for fried okra. Never liked their chicken but loved their okra.
