Had a friend call 911 and asked to be transferred to non-emergency line immediate to report an incident that required police assistance. This was pre-smart phone days and he didn't have the local police's non-emergency number.
Was such an interesting time.
"Call your local department number"
Who the frick knows that number off the top of their head?

Not sure if mentioned, but nothing screams backwards revenue collection then the NOPD guys guarding the entrance to downtown/CBD from Uptown routes checking for inspection stickers in the morning.
With all the problems around here, that just sums it up quite nicely.

Probable cause to pull you over and ask to search your hooptie. I call that good policing.

When I was 16 me and two friends got pulled over at 4 AM. We had cigarettes and threw them under the truck when the cop made us get out. Long story short he found the cigarettes and put a littering ticket on top of the minor of possession

In Texas, you also would've been charged with evidence tampering.

Got a ticket for doing nothing wrong. I was traveling on the interstate and a trooper pulled me over and asked why i pulled over? I replied you were following me with your lights on. He tells me i was persuing the vehicle that was in front of you. Met the lady where we were going eat. She said i thought he was coming after me. I told her he eas until i pulled over. Got ot thrown out.

As hard as this is to believe...yes.
FYI, if your 3 year old child is riding its tricycle around the cul-de-sac, the police have every right to pull them over and issue them a citation for driving without a valid license. Not even kidding.

Well, that should rank pretty high on the absurd list.

Is that LA?
I remember hearing of a guy, in Chesterfield County, VA, was given a DUI, for drinking a beer, while cutting his lawn, on a riding lawnmower.

Hell no. I was in the same parking lot as the cop when I pulled off, so I had the music low to begin with. He also gave me a seatbelt warning cause I put my arm over the top belt and had it under my arm. He was a taint.

My personal favorite was my room mate getting a ticket for riding his bike on the sidewalk on Range road in Denham Springs.

I was living in Eunice and bought a very used 914 in New Orleans over the phone. Drove down to pick up the car with my wife in her car, dropped in a new clutch, then we drove home with me leading in the new car with wife following in hers. I got pulled over for speeding (legit) and wife pulled over also, because she had my wallet. The cop gave her a ticket, too!

Had a John Deere Tractor pull out of a field in front of me on a rural road in Arkansas. I swerved to avoid the collision and got a ticket for crossing yellow line.
Almost got slapped with a contempt of court citation when I discovered the officer issuing the ticket was also the presiding Justice of the Peace.
