When Entergy sends me those 21cent checks, I cash them just to be a pain in the arse. Credit my account bitch, but of you want to send a a penny check...then I'll make you go through the additional expense to process it.

Do you think you're being a pain in the arse to Entergy by cashing their small check?

If anything, the opposite is true. It's more of a hassle for them if you DON'T cash the check. Cashing it doesn't cost them a thing.

They put it on the books when they wrote the check and by you not cashing it their compliance costs increase exponentially so not cashing a small check like that is way more expensive for a company.

No it doesn't dumbass. Writing the check costs them $.21, whether you cash it or not they already account for it. As far as they're concerned it's gone

He said he's going to make them go through the expense of processing the check he cashed. There is no expense on their part for the check to be processed.

Well that's just dumb. Whether or not you "need" $36 is one thing, but if you go out and have a few drinks one night, you'll probably spend about that. Or that's probably fairly close to a tank of gas.

You can't be bothered to spend less than a minute to mobile deposit a check for a free tank of gas? That just seems silly.
