In college.
Steady hot gf who was down to bang daily.
My house was the hangout for a bunch of folks and randoms would stop by to party, but never any fighting or jackassery.
Was getting to hunt & fish on the reg.
Parents were newly retired and enjoying themselves.

Those were damn happy times.

Just got back from a month long European trip. By myself. I was 24. Considering I almost flew back home the day I got there, it was a huge accomplishment. Met amazing people from all over the world. Ate delicious and disgusting food. Smoked pot in Amsterdam. Paraglided in Austria, river rafted in Switzerland, etc. etc.

Also the birth of my kids.

My son was around 11, and had just started sitting on stand on his own. I left him before daylight sitting against a big oak tree overlooking a hardwood bottom. After a while, I circled back around to pick him up. While we were whispering, he saw a buck in the bottom that I couldn’t see. I slipped down a ridge to get a clear shot. He threaded a shot down through the timber and killed a fine nine point. On the ride back to Camp, I told him, “son, I’ll look back at these days and remember them as the happiest times of my life”.

First day of high school the 2nd year I moved to Brooklyn. I had an established group of friends and many acquaintances, which was the complete opposite of what I had socially in Michigan.

My parents weren't dirt poor so for the first time in a long time I had new clothes to wear and $20 in my pocket

What’s the happiest you’ve ever been?

Friday night around 8pm my 24 year old daughter (frick you and your pics) went to the emergency room with pain in her abdomen. She has had discomfort since Monday night. My wife met her at the ER. My wife called me around 1 in the morning hysterical and I could barely understand her. All I could understand was "I need you here now". I rushed to the hospital. They found a massive tumor on one of her ovaries. They admitted her and said she had to have surgery right away.

They were positive it was going to be cancerous. My whole family has been just devastated all weekend.

Surgery was done this morning. Massive tumor and one of her ovaries were removed and pathology shows it to be benign.

Best case ending for a nightmare weekend.

Either my wedding night or the day my son was born.

They were very different feelings but both were incredible.

I didn’t even think I’d care about the wedding. To me it was a formality to make my wife happy. I was incredibly wrong, it was the best night of my life.

The day my son was born I was beaming with so much pride it was almost embarrassing.
