Our unofficially-adopted daughter was a live-in nanny for a husband/wife who coached college sports in central LA. Natchitoches maybe? Anyway, this was a few years ago, but the rate she was paid was like $50.00 a week or so. Maybe $75.00. She lived in their home but provided her own food. She was responsible for picking up the kids from daycare in the afternoon (using her own vehicle) and watching them until bedtime. She cooked for the kids and the parents (but she wasn't allowed to eat "their" food). And, she got the kids up and off to daycare every day on her own. Obviously it was a small town, and the labor market favored the employers. But, if I could have an attractive female college student handling all that stuff for basically $10.00 per day, I'd jump all over it. More realistically for your circumstance, you could probably get someone decent for at or just under minimum wage. That's about what your $75 number works out to, so yeah I'd be surprised if you didn't get some decent candidates at that rate.

Ya that only works in a tiny shitty town

Are you sure you checked everywhere? It says you're in Metairie. St. Christopher has a brand new daycare opening as part of the school in August. 6 weeks - 2y/o The school part is with PK3-7th. They may still have openings. My wife and I know a lot of the people there, and it looks like it will be a pretty solid program. They are still finishing the renovations on an entire building for it.
