What’s the early part of your childhood that you remember?

I think I was about 3 and I was messing with a visiting relatives straight razor and I remember my mom bringing me into the bathroom pretty upset. Maybe I cut myself- I don’t remember. But even at three I thought it was a lot of drama.
Happy Friday!!!

I can remember being on an airplane flying to KC. My parents said that was 1991-ish. So I was 3-4

Pulling a handful of shot out of my diaper while I was in my crib, and presented it to my mom.

I’m 49 but still remember my first day of kindergarten. I saw my kindergarten teacher just last year for the first time since & she remembered me as well.

Driving back home after evacuating for Hurricane Andrew. I was 4 at the time, but can still remember the damage vividly.

Walking into a small room with a lamp, seeing a balloon.

It seems like my oldest memory.

The lamp in this room, with the balloon is confirmed by parents to probably be around my 3rd birthday.

I have a few faint memories from ages 3-4. I remember having a birthday party at the beach around that age.

Even a lot of high school is pretty faint at this point.

I remember watching the moon landing on TV. I remember riding in my uncle’s truck passing a hippie dude dressed in all buckskin and telling my uncle in shock and disbelief that he has a purse on his shoulder. I have brief snippets in my mind of news coverage of the Vietnam War. Eating at the old Hoppers as a kid and being underwhelmed at the hamburger I ordered. Drive in movie at the Rebel. Can’t tell you what the movie was, but I was bored out of my mind.

Mom putting me in crib to go to sleep. I remember seeing the bars or whatever you call them on the crib, and her blurry face as I either was too young to see well or about to fall asleep.

I’ve gone from a cute, innocent baby, to a man in his late 30s arguing with college aged kids on a website called Tigerdroppings

I was about 3 and my dad showed up (after the divorce) drunk, beat the shite out of my mom and threw our tree out the front window.

Good times...

I'm 2 year and 10 months older than my brother, and I have vague memories of my mother being pregnant.

It’s funny how some things stick with you and other’s just don’t. I can remember things about my early childhood, but forget people I went to HS with. I think it has to have made a real impression to stick around. I’ll never forget our last HS reunion asking one of my old HS buddies who the old gray haired balding guy was talking to someone we both know, thinking it must be someone’s husband or whatever, and he said he went to school with us. That’s when I knew how bad it had gotten.

About 4 years old begging my grandfather for some of his chewing tobacco. He finally reluctantly let me put some in my mouth. The look of horror and disgust on my face must have been hilarious because I then remember him laughing his arse off while he carried me crying over to the garden hose to wash out of my mouth.

Yes we are probably about the same age, I do remember Hoppers, green stamps my mom collected and walter Cronkite on the news and showing the names of those poor young men killed in Vietnam at the end of the news.

That was a very real thing. I remember there being a green stamp store/offices or whatever by the old BR General if I’m not mistaken. My mom and grandmother were both way into that.
