My earliest memory is being happy, safe and secure. That lasted Avery long time into adulthood.

Probably around 5 or so and making sugar sandwiches in the dark because my Mom didn't have the money to pay the electric bill. That shite scars you as a kid

I was probably 3-4 and remembering not wanting to nap on those cots in day care. Then getting into trouble for pulling the curtains back during nap time to look outside because someone was fixing the playground equipment outside.

Around the same time, I remember a family/friends gathering in west Baton Rouge when Exxon exploded. The older kids there were crying because their dad worked at Exxon and you could see the giant cloud from where we were. I don’t remember much about that day, but I remember the giant cloud, the kids crying, and how cold it was. I was 4.

I remember going for a ride in a minivan that I know my parents got rid of when I was 3. There was something on the roof rack and it was rattling a lot. No idea where we were going. Probably Florida for a beach trip.

I also remember going to my grandmothers house instead of daycare. Not sure if when that was. I was probably 3 or so. I definitely couldn’t reach the top of the counters. She had a little Boston Terrier type of dog that scared me because of how big and loud it was.
