What's the deal with THCa Leaf in a state like Georgia?

I'm being told some unbelievable things. I'm being told it is basically legal weed through some federal loophole that GA is trying to shut down, but you have to buy it in a really specific way. Can any of you educate me on this, maaaan?

Even in backwards arse Alabama where I live you can basically buy actual weed over the counter these days. The loophole is that the product you're probably seeing, which looks and smells just like actual flower bud, contains a certain type of THC that is perfectly legal. It only becomes illegal when ignited, which then turns it into the other kind of THC.

So if I buy THCa from a vape shop in Georgia, let's say your hometown of Stripmall-ville, it's basically real weed? The only difference being you can't make brownies out of it and get high, but when ignited to high temps under flame, a chemical reaction occurs that turns it into real actual THC that gets you high?

I was floored when I went home last year and my buddy said we should go to the "weed store". It had the smell and appearance of regular cannabis, although the effect was slightly different.
Can't believe the Baptists haven't shut down that shite with a quickness. You couldn't even buy alcohol in my hometown when I graduated, now there's weed-lite stores operating with impunity.

I have become a fan of high CBD, low THC strains. About 12-14% each. Relaxing physically and mentally. Strong weed damn near sends me in to a panic every time these days, which is something I would have called myself a fig for years ago.

All marijuana is “THCA” flower. Marijuana has little to no “THC” on it until it is decarbed/burned. Hence lighting a joint etc. By decarbing/burning the flower, THCA is then converted to THC which gets you high. This is the same reason before you make your own edibles you need to put your bud in an oven or whatever you choose to gather the THC to make your butter. Yes this is a legal loophole to where you’re able to purchase “Legal Weed.” With that being said… be wary of bunk brands that don’t sell quality flower. (Most in vape shops) good brands to look for is WNC-CBD or Arete. Try those two first.
If you look at lab reports of any medical marijuana or even from a recreational state. All the bud is going to be high THCA and low THC because marijuana has essentially no active THC until it is burned.

If you buy from the right supplier, THCa is no different than the weed you’d buy off the street or at a dispensary. All bud is technically THCa, and becomes THC when heated. The loophole in the law is that it is less than a certain percentage of D9 THC by weight.
I’ve smoked THCa from reputable suppliers and the high is the exact same. Check out r/Cultofthefranklin

Sounds like they're selling weed with a wink, which is fine by me, but I'm curious as to the legalities. These places didn't exist when I left AL and MT went full legal shortly after I moved here, so I'm not sure why/how the state lets them operate.
