My optometrist discovered slight cataracts. I relayed the information to my PCP.

Yes, I understand it’s to be set-up like a kiosk. A big hurdle will be getting it past the eye doctor lobby and state licensing.

I went fifteen years before anyone diagnosed me with retinitis pigmentosa. Started noticing my field of vision shrinking and went to a different eye care center in Lexington. They did a single test and had me immediately referred to a retina specialist at UK.

It’s an absolute racket and scam that you have to get a new Rx every year in order to order new contacts.. my contacts Rx hasn’t changed in like 20 yrs, yet gotta pay like $150 for an exam first.. Costco used to have the best prices for eye exams at like $70 or $80, but i asked last week and now they charge $120… best workaround ive found is 1800 CONTACTS (they are now an actual website not just a phone #); they have some kind of online eye exam where they’ll charge you like $20 then fill your Rx.. which should show you how much of a scam the exams are.. BUT their contact lens prices are usually higher than most other places & websites .

Had them for years for school clinic. Just look in the machine and it gives you exact rx and will diagnose color vision disorders and astigmatism. We got it for about $5k about 8 years ago, but insurance won't cover it. Nailed mine with my contacts in. Great for kids, especially pre-verbal ones.

Thanks, and yes there are- but i am a member of TD International, ie i live overseas.. 800 CONTACTS is the only site i know of that delivers internationally .. i called Costco last week since i may be visiting family in US in a couple months.. if that trip doesn’t materialize then ill have to pay 800 CONTACTS jacked up prices and do their $20 exam .
