It’s a $25 million dollar plant built by an Australian company to make graphite stuff for batteries for electric cars. Only hiring 25 people for it.

They will be a Tesla battery component supplier.
Good jobs for that area if they can find qualified help.

The first rule about the graphite plant is we don’t talk about the graphite plant.

The facility is billed as the first of its kind outside China. It will process graphite from Syrah's Mozambique production operation into a component for lithium ion batteries, focused on the growing electric vehicle market.
Not sure if that's supposed to be a reassuring statement

The raw materials will be shipped from Syrah's mine to the Port of New Orleans, then trucked to the Vidalia facility for processing
Why not just keep it on the river and bring it to Vidalia by water?

That voyage takes a few days with a low river. Longer trip during high water. 3 hours by truck

You're not serious right? You know there are employees, plant, equipment and raw material expenses don't you?

That "jobs created" number used for proposed industrial project normally only includes full time plant employees once the plant is brought online (operators, loaders, maintanence, management, etc). They normally don't include the number of construction hands
