How fat our country is when traveling abroad
I had always heard how thin they were, but they seemed to have just as many fatty fricks
Just looked it up. We are 36% obese and most European countries are 25%. That isn’t really noticeable when walking around.
ETA: I think the difference is I didn’t see and 500 lb absolutely land whales in Europe like you do here in Walmart scooting around. But there was still gross fatties galore
Especially the fat borderline overweight/obese men that cram themselves in to skinny pants and slim fit shirts looking like a doughy mushroom

Yeah and these countries that offer shite that Americans crave, like free childcare, usually come with….work requirements. You don’t just get free shite in other places and get to sit on your arse. We have too many not paying in. Plus other countries don’t have open borders.
BINGO!
RE: Russia, they are mostly a geo-political boogieman so that our political elite can rape the US treasury. They are nationalistic and don't let people starve but ... they also don't let you sit on your arse and play on your welfare provided iPhone all day. Those being subsidized by the state sweep sidewalks or work as crossing guards for schools. They don't give a frick about LBGTXYZ bullshite, either.

From my time in Yemen, I was surprised as to how many people spoke English. I was told that English is taught in all 12 grades of school.
[South Yemen had been a British protectorate for many years, but in the North where I lived, the Imams kept the country isolated for several centuries.

Just a few years behind us.
They'll be at 35% in 10 years or less.

I didn't realize that native Hawaiians are the most racist people in the country and it's not even close.
And a surprising number of them are obese. I first went to Hawaii in 96, and was amazed at how fat the locals were.

Ugh it goes both ways. You’re not likely to see a lot of fatties in NYC, Miami, or Los Angeles but take ur butt to some town in Louisiana or Alabama good lord. When we visit Europe, we visit the top tier cities in the country basically there NYC, we aren’t going to the their Tennessee or Mississippi equivalents. You can go to Europe and stay in the most expensive parts of the country and easily avoid the poor areas/suburbs.

I was passing through Tennessee and stopped for gas in a little town. I had never seen a hillbilly before. Legit inbred.

Exactly how I felt stopping for gas in Sorrento in the mid 80's. Felt like Deliverance.

Went to Wisconsin for game a few years back. Son made comment on the number of billboards with pro-gun message.

So you don't really want European culture, you just want international culture in various cities.

Some countries have basically a hole in a ground (atleast it’s inside) and it’s called a restroom. Screw that mess

Went to Vermont and felt like I never saw a shanty, piece of trash on the road, or a beater car.

Drove from Paris to Chamonix in the Alps. People on the highways actually follow the rules, and use the left lane for its actual purpose - passing.
The Dutch are tall and cool as hell. Love Americans.
Parisians are rude and hate Americans.
Up north in the US, everything looks much older. Buildings, houses, infrastructure, etc.

I'm from Louisiana. The first time I visited states out west I was amazed that people didn't just throw their garbage on the side of the road. It's like they gave a shite.
Yes. Most out of state people almost refuse to believe when I say how dirty Louisiana is. It's glaring when you visit other states.

Born in SWLA and SETX raised, i thought I knew shithole towns until driving to Colorado. Once you pass Clovis and think “wow that’s awful”. The rest of north New Mexico says “ hold my beer”. Desolate and horrendous.
Agreed. I've made that drive many times.
