Nowhere in Jefferson Parish unless you want to pay for private schools. Destrehan or Luling are close enough to NOLA and have very good public schools.

Me and the wife (no pics) are always talking about moving to new Orleans. She is from the north shore. We don't want to move to New Orleans proper. What areas around NOLA are the best to move to. We have a child in elementary school.

The North Shore.

It is not the greatest place in the world but it is light years better than anything in and around NOLA.
A no brainer if you elementary school age kids.

Plus you can actually walk around your neighborhoods without fear of getting raped, mugged or murdered.

I know right. It's only been one of the hottest real estate markets in the state for the last five years. Nobody wants to live here.

That bubble will burst and people will regret ever moving there.

600k for an 1800 sq foot shotgun house with no off street parking one block away from the hood. No thanks

Live and lakeview and love it. Expensive as hell though.

How often do you have to get the suspension on your car fixed because of the worst streets in a city of really shitty streets.

I am selling my house, you should just buy it. In Metairie, super quiet street, right by lakeview, bucktown and old metairie. As close as you can get to New Orleans with all of the benefits of Metairie

Nola and it's inhabitants are trash. Move to Mandeville/Covington or I wouldn't live in a state run by JBE

Nice, but sorry I have ZERO interest in adding over an he each day to simply getting to and from home.

Mind boggling why anyone would intentionally put themselves there. Very very nice area, but just to dam difficult to get in a d out of.
Kids will be high school there soon.....dammit!

It is a bit of a commute to NOLA but you'd be much happier living in a better state.

Davies elementary is an A school that won the Blue Ribbon award a couple of years ago.

Trist Middle is a B school.

CHS is an A school with some of the best facilities in the state.

Entire district is top 10.

Go look at the new house for sale on Live Oak about 5 blocks west of Lake Ave.
It's a damn fine house with a outdoor kitchen, etc, but they are asking some retarded arse price. I think it was $950K.

This whole area is going through major transformation. Tearing down and building like crazy.
