I agree. I live in Orleans Parish, own 3 homes in Orleans Parish, and am extremely concerned with the crime lately and the direction of my city. Cars are burglarized EVERY day all around Lakeview and as a parent of 3 little kids this really concerns me. I worry about their safety, my safety, and my wife's safety. I'm also extremely concerned that my property and my rental properties will also start to take a hit on their value if the crime doesn't get better. New Orleans needs to be focused on improving crime, infrastructure, and schools and that is it. Those three items are deplorable and if you live in a Orleans Parish and aren't extremely concerned about those three items then you must not actually pay property tax in this city.

Orlando has alot of crime. But if that crime started creeping into and around Disney, focused on the tourists, it would take about 10 seconds for the mayor to call in the national guard.
But the leaders of New Orleans think it's no big deal.
"But crime has always been bad, there's just more coverage now" - even if that were true, you still have to do something about it. That's like someone getting diagnosed with cancer and saying "I only have cancer because I got it diagnosed by a radiologist, I was fine yesterday".
