I was in Turks and Caicos and leaving mass at the local Catholic Church on Easter, and I heard an accent that I knew had to be from Louisiana. I said “hey man, you from Louisiana by chance.” He said yeah, I’m from New Iberia.
I immediately told my wife (she’s from the NE) I know my people from back home as soon as I hear them, no matter where we are in the world.
