What’s going on in marsh b/w Kenner and spillway?

Looks like some dredging and levees being built. Anyone know the name of the project or purpose?

Being seeing that too for awhile. About a quarter mile wide and goes back pretty far.

That dredge is like a vacuum. They’re pumping off the bottom and into those areas you see to create marsh land. Each one of those areas has drains. They fill it to a certain height, let the silt settle, then drain the water off the top. They continue to do that until they reach whatever silt height they’re looking for. I worked on a project down in Fourchon a year or so ago doing the same thing.

Lol. Yeah, but if you wanna catch the easiest red fish ever, go when they open those drains. Reds were having a field day on mullet where the water drains out
