It’s nice not having a dress code. Business casual isn't required for me. I have one suit for weddings and funerals.
I only own one suit too. I rarely wear the thing, maybe once every few years. I've been working from home mostly so it hasn't mattered but I wear button downs and pants most days. We can wear polos during the summer.

I just don't like wearing shoes. My company is a very laid back small company, so I wear flip flops to work. I have my work flip flops and my casual flip flops. My work flip flops have more padding. My biggest annoyance is when I forget to change before leaving work.
Funny thing is I used to never wear flip flops. When I bought my first pair I even started a thread on here asking if it was acceptable to wear them to restaurants and such. This was like 15 years ago. I never looked back.

I wear flip flops 365 days a year. Only times I wear shoes would be for yard work and golf. But as soon as either of those are done I'm back in my flip flops.
I never wear flip flops but I wear a hat 365 days a year.
I always wear close toe shoes or just socks no matter wear I’m at. If I’m on the beach or around the pool I just go barefooted.

This is odd to me. I think I own at least eight of them, plus a tuxedo, and I don't think it's all that many. Basic suit choices of black, blue, grey or brown means four at a minimum.

I wear skirts or dresses with some form of heels pretty much daily, unless it is a very casual day where I have no plans that I do leggings.
Not a big jeans wearer.

I'm 43 and have one grey suit. I figure it's a pretty neutral color for most occasions. I've owned other suits in the past that are either dated, don't fit anymore or whatever. I just gave them to Goodwill. I think I've worn a suit twice in the past 8 years, both at funerals. I don't see any reason to go buy another one that I might not wear for a decade.

Same here. I own 2 tuxedos, one traditional and one with tails.
Also own close to a dozen suits that I might only wear 6 or 7 times a year.
The one item of clothing that I can’t stand to wear is a fricking tie

See I just never have a reason to wear one so I don't see why I would own a bunch of them. I probably own 25 button down shirts and pairs of pants. But I wear those 5 days a week in normal times. Suits, not so much.

I’ve just never really gotten rid of any. I only have 4 or 5 in my rotation that I actually wear. The other ones just sit there.

I like ties, can't tie them worth a shite but I like them. Normally I tie them once and leave it. I also have a nice camel overcoat to go with the suits, and at least a dozen pair of dress shoes. Plus a nice suede sport coat I bought last year. Lord & Taylor going out of business was awesome for wardrobe expansion.

I'm not a big fat guy or anything but I'd definitely need about 6 months on a Peleton to fit in a suit I bought when I was 29

I bought it for a trip we took up north during the winter and never wore it.

I bought my current one when my uncle died 7-8 years ago. It's not a fancy tailored one either. I bought suit separates from Nordstrom Rack the day before the funeral. My paw paw died a few years later so I wore it again then. I think it's Calvin Klein or some crap like that. Looks like any other suit to me but I'm not a fashion guy.

We moved up to Jersey a couple of years ago. I bought it last year and wore it a few times this past winter. If we were still in Carolina, I would have never bought it. Never even owned a winter coat down there.

quote:More or less same story. Bought one off the rack for my dad's funeral 8 years ago. And now that I think about it I gave it away last year so I guess I should get another one. It wouldn't have fit anyways.

I have a wool coat with thermal lining in it that I almost never wear anymore. It's too hot for the Deep South but I used to travel for work and I bought it for that. I used to go to places like Alaska, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio etc during the winter all the time so it was necessary.

I don’t own a suit, I have a couple coats that I wear under protest, but only a couple times per year. A big part of choosing a company is dress code, I wouldn’t choose a place that requires one. I don’t go to church, don’t go to weddings, and people I know are immortal.
Can’t stand flip flops, especially thongs that go between toes. I only wear slides if at pool or on the boat. I do too many things like weld or move heavy things to ever really consider it. I’m happy in steel toes...
