It’s sad that you’re so indoctrinated with leftist ideology it’s made you lose the ability to view the world in anything other than a political spectrum.

Again, I view the world in plenty of spectrums. It's just that none of those other areas strike me as being dominated by the South. Cost of living compared to median income might could be am argument if you look at specific areas but that's hardly ubiquitous to the South as much of the South is poor as dirt.

I didn't definitively identify him as being anything. I offered an educated guess based on the only qualities that could be perceived as positive that stand out to me to such an extreme for the South that would lead one to confidently say "the South is the greatest place on Earth." If it's because it's your home, okay, but there's really no point in trying to have an objective discussion on that. What other qualities would you argue make the South the greatest place on Earth?

You said, "I would guess that's based pretty much entirely on one holding radically right ideas and not being able to handle being called out on it." What part of "the South is the best place on Earth" indicated to you that he held these beliefs? Because there's nothing in that simple statement that could lead you to believe it's founded on "radical right ideas." That's your prejudices and biases coming through, not his. Stop projecting your bullshite on other people and then judging them based on your idiotic boogeyman.

Aren't anything special IMO. Pale in comparison to Argentina and parts of Europe. The South is disproportionately overweight and that doesn't help.

the weather

Hot and humid for the most part? I've never heard anyone try to argue the weather in the South is the best in the world before.

the boating, hunting, fishing etc.

This is subjective, but at least has more merit than your other points. Doesn't appeal to the entire population either. If that's your thing, then I could see why you would like it more here than elsewhere.

the women

See above

people have manners

Again, this is hardly conclusive. In my opinion, it tends to only be superficial and can be pretty heavily influence on their impression of you.

SEC football season

I do agree that it's the greatest sport and the SEC is the greatest region for it. Although, I think I'd probably hold a different opinion if I had more exposure to other events.

our culture of bathing DAILY, regardless of what we choose to wear to Wal-Mart

The South is closer to the lower end of the spectrum of what I'd consider good hygiene practices on average.

I don’t thing you understand what “radically right” means.

Mississippi sucks but it’s not exactly a beacon of extremism.

Sure you do. That’s when someone says they love the south you immediately equate it with politics.

Nobody gives a shite what you think. Your opinion means nothing to anyone but yourself. Stop being such a narcissistic douchebag.

Much of the north is poor as shite, much of the west is poor as shite. In fact, most of the world is poor as shite.

The only time I ever wear shorts is while exercising or doing a recreational activity. I’ve got a similar thing going with sneakers but I’ve loosened up on that one a little recently. I haven’t shaved my entire face since my last job interview which was 8 years ago. And I’m not slovenly, I just don’t have much of a chin so I look chubby with a completely shaved face.

8% poverty rate worldwide

Yet also located there were 9 of the 10 poorest. Mississippi (25.2 percent) and Louisiana (23.6 percent) had the United States' two highest poverty rates. Consequently, the South's rate 15.7 percent was the Nation's highest.

I've never seen an episode of Seinfield,Friends, or Frazier. And when I read a book it has to be non-fiction.

Same.

I don't watch TV, except for ball games. Don't go to the movies, only read non fiction.

That is the "extreme" poverty rate, that is living on less than $2 per day. The rate of people living below other poverty levels, on less than what is required to achieve a normal human life span, is up around 50% or so.

I will not let any food containing the tiniest speck of cilantro cross my mouth. When I go out with wife (no pics) or friends they either laugh/get annoyed with the level of detail I have to give the server as to how much I hate cilantro and how much it will absolutely ruin a meal for me.

Relative. Western society has pushed some areas to an unprecedented success, we judge others based on that light. In reality, the average income of the world is something like 19k.

And that's highly skewed by Europe and N. America.

Same. I hate novels. I also don't watch most TV shows. There have been a couple that I sit through and enjoy, but I just don't really like fake stories with fake characters.

I'll watch documentaries and educational shows like cooking instructionals all day.

I rarely listen to music. I couldn't name more than a couple of modern artists. I like music but I just don't listen to it often.

Outside of sports or news I rarely watch much TV either. I've never seen a single episode of a reality TV show.
