On the sporty cars it fits a lot better, but their SUVs look really really bad with that grille setup. At least on the nose.

Yea, I think they're making nice looking vehicles now. Sure it's a bit of an overreaction to get away from their previously bland image, but I still think they look good.
And the build quality is still top notch. I really like the new GS 350 F Sport. It's on the short list for my next vehicle in a few years.

????? Can say that's a first. It's regularly listed as the most reliable vehicle brand.

Not arguing their reliability. They are perfectly reliable, comfortable cars.
They're also the most boring cars I've ever driven. They are the definition of a vanilla vehicle that drives more like a boat than a car. Just my opinion.

That was the main reasoning behind building the LC. Check out the video I posted.

And I'm sure its a great car, but:
1. I'm not spending $100,000 on my cars, so any Lexus in my budget would still be a boring ride for me.
2. If I were to spend $100,000 on a car, it would never be on a Lexus. Even the LC.

Oh, well that's easy to tell from a test drive
. I personally need a comfortable commute car to take customers to lunch. Got that covered. Never been much of a sporty car person, so that aspect is lost on me.

Looks pretty cool. I've never been a fan of the more recent designs Lexus uses on the front of their cars though.

What did you have? I'd definitely say that about the '97 ES300 my mom had way back when. I haven't owned a newer one, but I liked the '13 RX F Sport a friend had. Way more fun to drive than the older ones.

2014 ES350
Again, perfectly reliable and comfortable car. Never had issues with it. But I never got excited driving it. My car before that was a 335i convertible with the sport package. My pants always got just a little bit tighter whenever I drove that car.

That's exactly why I got my Lexus. Then I changed jobs and didn't have to drive clients around anymore.

To each their own. I personally prefer a sportier ride.

Yea, the rest of that car is pretty sharp tho.

Yea, the ES is definitely not the same kind of car as a twin turbo 3 series
Guess it's all in what you're looking for. I've read a lot of good things about the new GS with the dynamic handling package, which is why I'm interested in it. Still not going to have the straight line punch like the turbo BMWs though.

Okay then what would you buy? This is going to be a direct competitor to the M6 and SL AMG
The Nissan GTR is the only thing that would deter me from this.

SL63 has to be way more than $100K
ETA They don't make a "SL55" anymore apparently. And per the MBUSA website it starts at $151k. SL65 starts at $220k

Well, for starters I would easily buy an M6 or SL AMG over it, but those cars are WAY more than $100,000.
Others that come to the top of my head:
BMW M4
Porsche 911 Carrera
Tesla S 90D
All three of those cars are less than or the equivalent cost of the LS, and I would take any of them in a heartbeat over the LS.

Just looked up the same thing, see the edit.
The 63 is still the 5.5L V8, just not branded as a 55 anymore.
