What would you do (mail related)?

So the mail lady knocks on our door today. Hands me 4 packages. 1 of them was mine that had been missing for a week. The others were for someone else that had lived here prior. There was no telling how long they have been in the lockbox. She says “sorry I’ve been on vacation and found these”. I responded, “well thank you but 3 of these aren’t for me.” She said back, “we’ll it has your address keep them”.
So is it fair game to open them? Or should I waste gas and bring them to a post office because the mail lady is too lazy to do her job

still highly illegal to open mail that isn't addressed to you, regardless of the house address. you should remind your mail lady of that.
