i dont really like the idea of "pushing" anything.


whatever decision you coerce someone into for something like that will probablu create a level of resentment at some point towards you.

have a conversation about all the options and see what she wants to do and explain to her what the will mean to her for each one and let her decide with all the information there.

Different strokes. Can't imagine being 50-60 and being stuck wasting the rest of my able-bodied life raising someone else's kid.

Of course, my concern for my own life is why I don't even want my own kids in the first place up to this point

I kind of agree with your previous point regarding those less fortunate, however I am fortunate enough that if the situation happened to me, I would be able to help as much as I could. But,

While it is someone else's kid, it is also your grandchild. It is a part of you.

Dang, we have a bunch of cold hearted shits here. At least they want to seem that way, because they think it makes them sound tough or whatever. I'd imagine that you would give whatever you could towards raising your grandchild, though.
