Depends. If it had a few dozen fats crabs hanging on I'd come back the next and check it again. When the crabs play out I'd call a deputy.

This has happened near me. Google Karen Slover murder. Her husband and in law's killed her, cut up her body and threw it in the lake. Local Fisher found one of the bags, and contacted the SD. My dad was a deputy at the time, and helped with the investigation. Crazy enough he found a shirt button at the scene that tied the Slover family to the murder.
