Saw a guy walk in the ER at UMC one night with a hatchet buried in the back of his head. He needed to come.

Have seen more than one with a knife hole in them. One with the knife buried to the hilt in his chest. They all needed to come.

Have seen several already bled out and dead when they got them there. No need to hurry to the ER.

Saw a guy who pulled his lawnmower back over his foot. He needed to come.

Saw a girl who put a nice little pistol under her left tit and shot up. No need for her to come.

Others I would like to forget.

Was at one time, in military.

Oh we saw a guy who had a small flashlight stuck inside "you know where". Showed up really well on the X-ray. He needed to come to the ER.

You would be shocked the bullshite that comes in the ER. And a lot of lower social economic class individuals got nuttin' better to do. And don't worry they aren't paying.

My local hospital has a walk in clinic literally next door to the ER. They still go to the ER.

I can relate to this. Then they want to keep me for that.

Severe chest pain

If you wait for it to become severe you probably won't make it anyway.

Just as public service announcement, if someone feels they are legit having a heart attack then call 911. Do not drive or let spouse drive. I have seen multiple bad outcomes from this scenario. EMS has meds, defibrillator, and do CPR if needed. Even family can do CPR but can't if driving.

Can’t imagine going there for a headache or fever only to be sitting there for half the day before you are finally seen

If you ain’t paying for it, you probably wouldn’t have an issue going.
If you had co pays, deductibles, and Max out of pocket: you would avoid

Woke up with the flu and 104* fever a few months ago. Was about to go and it started going down while I was attempting to get dressed.
