When I was younger most of the folks in the old "Rod & Gun" clubs were football players. Most of the cops back then were beat cops, not ex military. While dated now, makes sense for the time period.

Franklinton PD posted a pic of a travel ball team they sponsored a few years ago. All the braxxtoons had on overly sized Kevlar and were holding ARs. I thought it was stupid on multiple levels but none of it angered me.
