What were your first purchases on Amazon and eBay?

Amazon:
Set of New Testament commentaries by John Calvin. Said used and was about $75 at a time when you could get same set at Barnes & Nobles (had to order from store on Vets) and The Strand for about $120. I think this was around 2000. At that time and for the next five years I believe the only thing I ever bought from amazon was books. Can’t remember my first non book amazon purchase.
eBay:
Pair of vintage used Reebok pumps around the year 1999. I had always wanted a pair as a child. I found a used pair on eBay for $10. When they came it was clear they were fake. I used them in one game in high school and never wore them again.

LSU @ Auburn tickets back before sites like StubHub came to be. NFL talent all over the offensive side of the call. I think we scored 7...maybe 10 points.

eBay I bought my dad the Maravich book. The black one from 70 I think. He had it in high school then his mom threw it away when he went to college. I had gotten my first job real at 15 or 16. He still has it.

eBay: Hardcover of "Fire on the Mountain: The True Story of the South Canyon Fire" that came out in 1999.
Amazon: Probably a book or CD. Our office needed a new Bunn coffee pot in the late 90s, and I was the only one who had an account to order one. The older folks were skeptical.
I remember going to England in 1999 and telling people there about Amazon. Looks like the UK version launched in '98, but the people I spoke to had not yet heard of it.
Right before that trip, I emailed a company in London a credit card number and asked them to send me a Barbour coat. It showed up, with the mailman asking for about $35 in duties. I was amazed it worked. Even with duties, it saved me over $100 compared to buying it in the nearest store that carried them.

Only thing I bought on Amazon til like 2014 was college textbooks. You could get them for a couple dollars used compared to hundreds new in the bookstore.
OT: Just another way colleges are just money grubbing scams.

eBay-golf clubs
Callaway X-14 Steelheads and an old Tommy Armour blade putter.
Use them to this day.
Actual quote from those days:
Mrs M to granddaughter,
"Look darling, the Golf Club fairy brought grandpa a new golf club!"
Amazon-books probably.

My first ever purchase on ebay was a Stingray pump paintball gun. I got into a bidding war with someone else but ended up getting this bad boy for $115.00. It only took the small co2 cartridges, was a pump and couldn't hit a house from 20 yards.

Hold up, you paid that much for a Stingray?
I got the Stingray 2 set from WM and I don't remember it being more than $50.

Yes, I got the a set with the cartridges, evolution hopper, mask, cleaning kit..... and the guy on ebay had convinced my childhood self that the clear version was super rare.
