For some reason we always had a lot of bomb threats when I was in middle school. I am talking about 3-4 a year. They would march us out to the football field for a couple hours amd we would horse around. I think this gave some kids an incentive to call in the threats. Lol.

There was always one item or book that you were a total fricking loser if you didn't get....the one I remember the most was a lizard slap bracelet. Damn those things were hype. we all wore and slapped each other with for about a week after the book fair...then it we were done haha

When it got cold we would melt crayons on the old radiator heaters in the back of the classrooms. Also collecting all of the NFL pencils they sold in the office. lol Good times.

When the teacher rolled in that big arse cart with the big arse box shaped TV, we knew class was gettin' turnt!

Career day, we got to do activities not just listen.

Running the 5th grade market/getting to visit the 5th grade market when you weren't yet in 5th grade.

Choir practice (I was part of the 10% not in the choir, so we got to just play games and watch movies instead of work).

"Art a la carte" where we got to look at and try to copy different artistic styles. It was run by stay at home moms who came in to the school every so often and was infinitely better than art with the art teacher.

Big peanut butter chocolate chip cookie for 25 cents a piece at recess. Always had that quarter handy and ready to go.

I remember about every three months or so, we would have donut days.
Back in the 70’s, a single Krispy Kreme donut was ¢0.10 each.
I’d get two every time.
