It’s was bad on record I only attended 80 of the 186 days because I never went to home room for attendance, had art English and math the first half of the year plus auto mechanics the first half of the day all year ( I just went to shop never to the school for attendance) after shop the I’d just to work instead of school.

Elective (worked in the front office)
Left at 11:30. Napped at home for a little bit and then worked at an after school childcare program from 3:00-6:00.
Working in the school office was great because me and the 4 people in there with me had access to the list they used to leave messages with parents whose kids were absent.. basically to confirm the absence. So my friend and I would skip once a week and just have someone take our name off the list.

Idk if it’s because I went to a catholic school but it was a normal schedule. We were able to pick an elective but I didn’t leave any earlier.

It was great. On school wide half days (which we had once a month) seniors would get out at 9:30.

I’ll be damned if I can remember the fifth class. That was in 1989 so I’ve long forgotten.
What I do remember was that fifth hour was first lunch shift first semester so I couldn’t leave until 12:30. Got moved to second lunch shift second semester so I got to go home at noon.

I signed up for a bunch of slop classes. The counselor called my Father, and he had them put me in AP Chemistry and AP Trig and Calculus. I'd signed up for Consumer Math and Earth Space Science. I couldn't do early checkout because of football in the fall, and baseball in the spring, so I did get to hang out in the Fieldhouse 6th period before athletics 7th period.
