Little League team won district for the 4th year in a row. Kissed a girl for the first time. Found out about the scrambled channel.

Was a good year.

My greatest accomplishment by age 12 was second base!

I obtained my doctorate in nuclear physics and flew on a secret three month mission to the Mir space station.

I was molested by my 24 year old housekeeper.

Starting left fielder on a Little League All Star that was a couple of runs away from beating a team that very nearly went all the way.

Played AAU basketball that summer and was just made to look silly over and over and over again by a future 1st round pick/multi-year NBA All-Star/starter on an NBA championship team. Also played basketball against a future NFL running back that same summer (who, himself, might have been good enough to play pro basketball had he stuck with it). That was the summer that I figured out that professional basketball was not in my future.

Was a starter on a city championship football team but had also figured out by that point that football was not my future.

Don't think I had broken 45 yet in a competitive 9 hole round of tournament golf by that point.

I kicked arse at quiz bowl that year, though. None of those jokers could touch 12 year old Abu.

A hijack, but I’ll never forget on our first day of pledgeship that I had a pledge brother who said he was a two time MVP of his little league team when you had to introduce yourself to the actives and pledges the first day. Got the nickname “All Star” after that and fricked with mercilessly.
